Following on from my previous blog post, where I challenged myself to, ‘use it or lose it’, I want to share some more projects I have made, using up those old shimmer spray bottles.
The Backgrounds
When I prepared my different substrates, I had some A5 white cardstock at the ready. I grabbed a few different stencils from my enormous stash and added some spray, directly from the bottles, to the card through the stencils. I put these aside as I knew I wanted to do something special with them.

I have always been a fan of mini notebooks and journals, so that’s what I decided to make.
The white card is quite sturdy at 250gsm, so once folded in half, it made for a decent cover for the books.
For the inserts, I grabbed some, lined, exercise book, paper, (from the kid’s school books, end of year) and cut them to fit inside. (Approx. 18.5cm x 13cm, when laid flat, before folding).

If you have a long stapler, you can staple the paper into the cover, but as I didn’t have one, I chose to use some lengths of twine, wrapped around the centre of the cover and note paper a few times. I then tied it in a bow on the outside of the spine.
Decorating the covers
To decorate the front covers of each notebook, I first added some stamping layers. Next, I added texture paste or colour paste, washi tape and some stamped and coloured embellishments. The final layers of word stickers and quotes, die cuts and Stickles, glitter glue, added the finishing touches.

I’m really happy with how they turned out. They would make great presents!

I Hope you are inspired to give them a go. Don’t forget to comment if you do 😊
